Holi Utsav 2025

Holi, the festival of colors, concluded with immense joy, devotion, and spiritual reflection. In the Swaminarayan Sampraday, Holi is not just about vibrant hues but symbolizes the victory of faith and devotion. It marks the day when Lord Vishnu, in the form of Narsimha, protected Prahlad from his tyrannical father Hiranyakashipu, while Holika, despite her boon, was consumed by fire. Additionally, for Swaminarayan devotees, Holi coincides with Bhagatji Maharaj’s Pragatya Din, honoring his unwavering faith and spiritual perseverance, much like Prahlad.

The utsav began with the bhajans, filling the sabha with devotion. Following this, Abhibhai and Atitbhai shared insightful prasangs from Bhagatji Maharaj’s life, emphasizing how he lived by the Shikshapatri’s teachings, even in the face of great hardship.

The sabha then turned to cherished memories (smruti) of Swamiji's Rangotsav, recalling how He played Holi with santo and bhakto in Haridham, spreading divine bliss through the joyous festival.

After reliving these spiritual moments, vadilo (elders) offered colors to Thakorji on behalf of all devotees, symbolizing the offering of their devotion. The celebration then culminated in Thakorji’s Aarti, where all bhakto came together to seek His blessings. Finally, prasad was served, marking the end of a spiritually uplifting Holi Utsav.
